Overview

John Knox, Jr. and Greg Cox are the founding partners of Knox Cox & Company.

Knox Cox & Company, L.L.P. began in June 2016. John and Greg have worked with each other since 1993 and both are client service driven, specializing in the areas of tax, audit, accounting and consulting. Both John and Greg have lived in the Fort Bend County area since the 1970’s. They have seen the rapid growth of Sugar Land and Fort Bend County in recent years and have incorporated that growth into their accounting firm that focuses on individual client needs. The majority of the firm consists of Certified Public Accountants.

Partner

John is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting in 1986. He has 33 years of experience including extensive involvement in construction contractor tax and accounting, governmental and not-for-profit accounting and auditing including significant focus on TCEQ regulated entities including Water Districts and River Authorities.

John is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and serves on the Board of the Sienna Plantation Management District, Ridge Point FFA Booster Club and Outdoor Association for Texas Heroes.

Greg is a graduate of the University of Houston where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1992. He has 27 years of experience including extensive involvement in employee benefit plan auditing, construction contractor auditing, governmental and not-for-profit accounting and auditing, homeowner association auditing, tax return preparation including individual, corporate, partnership, trust and benefit plan returns.

Greg is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a lifetime member of the “H” Association at the University of Houston, where he played golf from 1987-1992.

Jennifer Wienecke, CPA - Knox Cox & CompanyJennifer K. Wienecke, CPA

Jennifer graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting. She started her career with a “Big 8” firm and has worked in Texas and the California Bay Area. She has been a CPA since 1991 and has experience serving clients in a variety of industries including, construction, governmental, non-profit, and employee benefit plans. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).

Jefferson Swenson, CPA - Knox Cox & Co.Jefferson W. Swenson, CPA

Jeff is a graduate of Houston Baptist University, where is received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1987. He has over twenty-six years of experience in public accounting and several additional years of experience in the private sector. While the majority of his experience is related to the audit and review of construction industry clients, he has significant experience in multiple forms of income tax preparation and general business consulting. Jeff has ten years of government audit experience relating to participation in audits of local city and municipal utility district’s as well as several county engagements.

Donna Segura - Knox Cox & Co.Donna Segura

Donna has over 21 years of administrative experience working with an accounting firm as an office manager. She provides support to the CPA’s by maintaining the daily duties of the office. Donna attended the Texas School of Business and received her Associates Degree as a Legal Secretary in 1996. Donna has been a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg, Texas for over 11 years and has been a Sunday school teacher for various school grades. Donna is a native Fort Bend County resident.

Renae Joyner - Knox Cox & CompanyRenae Joyner

Renae has been working in the public accounting field as a bookkeeper for eight years and has been doing full service bookkeeping for small businesses since 2002. She began her career in the banking field working for a local credit union before following her dream to be a bookkeeper like her mother. She is proficient with QuickBooks and Peachtree software. She is studying to become an enrolled agent with the IRS for our firm to prepare personal and small business tax returns and represent clients with the IRS.

Renae went to Massey Business College where she received her associate’s degree in Accounting in 1990. Renae is a member of Creekside Christian Fellowship in Needville, TX for over 6 years, where she is a member of GALS. Renae has lived in Fort Bend County for over 31 years.
